GUESS!

I have been putting some finishing touches to a couple of my children’s books in the past weeks. As I was working on Guess!, I came across the drawings I had made that became the heart of the story.

I spent the evening at a friend’s house where his son and nieces were running amok. As I watched them run and play, I took notice of how their little bodies moved differently than the full grown versions of adults. When I got home that night I jotted down some of the gestures that I had kept in my mind’s eye. These were to eventually become the gestures found in my book.

Here are the quick drawings of the children I made that night, along with an illustration from Guess!

Hey Despina! Love the sketches of the little ones – they have such a gentle feeling to them. Can’t wait to see the book!
